An in-depth comparison of two best 2-in-1 tablets available in the market
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has quite comfortably dominated the two-in-one tablet industry with its strong lineup of Surface Pro devices. The Surface Pro 4 is currently one of the best available two-in-one tablet/laptop in the market and only a few came close to the brilliance it offers. Huawei has certainly been inspired by the success accumulated by Microsoft’s Surface Pro lineup, which has led to the release of the Huawei MateBook, but let’s see if it can match or even overcome the power of the Surface Pro 4.
The Surface Pro 4 has an elegant design and its body is made of magnesium alloy, which gives it a very premium feel. The Huawei MateBook is certainly good too, as it is crafted with an aluminum design. The design of the former has a significant advantage over the latter because the former has an inbuilt kickstand, whereas the latter requires the use of a separately sold keyboard cover to act as a kickstand. Huawei MateBook offers a built-in finger print sensor but Surface Pro 4 requires a separately sold keyboard with a built-in fingerprint reader.
The Surface Pro 4 has one of the best display screens on a tablet, which can easily hold elegance among the very best displays on offer. It sports a 12.3-inch high-resolution Pixel Sense display that offers 2736×1824 pixels per inch. Huawei MateBook offers a slightly smaller 12-inch display screen with resolution of 2160×1440 pixels per inch. A great benefit of owning Surface Pro 4 is a facial recognition sensor located on top of its display screen, which gives better security to the device as compared to Huawei MateBook.
The Huawei MateBook comes in a standard model, which is powered by dual-core 3.1GHz Intel processor. The sixth generation Intel processor on the MateBook is backed by 4GB of RAM. The device offers an impressive internal storage of 128GB. However, Surface Pro 4 comes in three different variant options and gives users the freedom to choose from a range of different configuration option. It is offered in Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 processor that is clocked at 900 MHz, 2.4GHz and 2.2GHz respectively. Surface Pro 4 is completely configurable according to users’ needs, so it supports RAM from 4GB to 16GB. The storage option offered for the Surface Pro 4 includes 128GB, 512GB or a whopping 1TB.
It is little surprise that the powerful specifications and the option to completely configure Surface Pro makes it more powerful device than Huawei MateBook. This does not mean that Huawei MateBook is not a capable 2-in-1 device because it offers very impressive specs that are coupled with an in-built finger print reader. If you have extra cash to burn, then definitely go for Surface Pro 4 but Huawei MateBook is a safe option as well.
