Tesla sends a Christmas present for Model X owners, allowing them to do their own Model X light show

Last year, Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) programmed the falcon-wing doors and lights on three of its all-electric luxury SUVs, Model X, for the Christmas to perform a light show with Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s  music—Winter in Water. While the company made a video at the time, CEO Elon Musk said that the program will be launched via an Easter Egg in the vehicle.

Electrek reported that Tesla sent a gift to the Model X owners through an Easter Egg with the latest software update 8.0.2.50.15. Customers can perform their own Model X light show by unlocking the new Easter Egg.

Mr. Musk explained how the owners can activate the Easter Egg: entering “Holiday” as an access code (holding the T button for five seconds):

To activate the Model X holiday performance, just type holidays or ModelXmas after pressing the logo. Also, Mars. pic.twitter.com/8Cy7YPlECX

Since the Internet phenomenon of 16,000 lights synchronized to the music of Carson’s William, Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Wizard in Winter, which has been a renowned instrumental song for light shows. Tesla took the inspiration and developed its own light show through its most all-ever crossover using lights, and front auto-representing doors and the falcon-wing doors.

Here’s the video of the Model X light show releases last year:

Apart from the Xmas-theme Easter Egg for the Model X, the auto giant also sent an Easter Egg in the Mars or SpaceX theme through its latest software update rolled out earlier this week; it allows Tesla owners to jokingly ship their vehicles to Mars on the Interplanetary Transport System (ITS) of SpaceX.

The ITS was unveiled as part of SpaceX mission to colonize Mars and it is currently under development. It will be able to transport 100 people along with tons of cargo into the earth’s orbit and then refuel before heading toward Mars. Technically, Mr. Musk could send Tesla cars to Mars too, but for now it can only be done via the Easter Egg, activated by entering the access code “Mars” (holding the T button).
