When Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) recently refreshed its MacBook Pro lineup, majority of users were left significantly disappointed with the fact that the tech giant did not take a similar approach with its current line of MacBook Air. The Cupertino-based tech giant confirmed that it did not intend to update its entry-level 11-inch variant of MacBook Air anytime soon.
Although Apple did roll out its super-thin and lightweight variants of the new MacBook Pro, the 11-inch MacBook Air is one of the most popular notebook devices offered by the company, mainly due to its affordable price tag. Hence, users are still hopeful that the company could refresh its current line of MacBook Air offering.
For those who don’t know, the slimmest version of the new MacBook Pro is not only designed to be lighter than the current MacBook Air, but the former is also a bit thinner than the latter. This might just be a strong indication from Apple that the company is ready to kill-off one of its most successful lines of notebook offering. Hopefully, it will address its users regarding the possible launch of a refreshed line of MacBook Air during one of its upcoming events.
Recently, there has been ongoing speculation that the tech giant is seriously considering discontinuation of both of its MacBook Air and iPad Air offerings. Interestingly, the same rumors have indicated that the company believes that it is for the best if it focuses its efforts on its MacBook Pro and iPad Pro offering for the immediate future.
