TCC takes a look at the fourth-quarter analysts forecast for Packaging Corp of America and IDEX Corporation ahead of their earrnings call later today

Packaging Corp of America (NYSE:PKG) and IDEX Corporation (NYSE:IEX) will post their quarterly financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2016 (4QFY16) after the closing bell on January 30. Regardless of their mixed financial results over the past several quarters, Street analysts expect both PKG and IEX to outperform their bottom and top-line expectations.

The consensus earnings per share (EPS) estimate stands at $1.16, one cent higher than the company’s 4Q EPS guidance of $1.15. The aforementioned estimate would result in a 10.8% quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) decline, but also a 7.41% year-over-year (YoY) growth on bottom line. Additionally, Earningswhispers.com believes that the Illinois-based will report EPS of $1.18.
Furthermore, Wall Street analysts expect the company to report revenue of $1.44 billion for the quarter, which would represent an increase of 3% YoY but a decline of 4% QoQ. Moreover, Estimize.com has the same revenue forecast.
Analysts expect EPS to come in at 93 cents, one cent lower than its 4QFY15 EPS of 92 cents. However, Earningswhispers.com expects the fluidics systems manufacturer to surpass Wall Street’s expectations with its EPS estimate of 94 cents.
Furthermore, revenue is expected to clock in at $548.54 million, which is slightly lower than Estimize.com’s forecast of $548.26 million. If the estimate holds true, the company will witness growth of 10% YoY and 3% QoQ.
